Michael C. Hall Diagnosed with Cancer

Michael C. Hall, more commonly known for his portrayal of the title role-serial killer protagonist on Showtime’s hit series ‘Dexter,’ has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, his representative Craig Bankey confirmed Wednesday, January 13 to CNN. Bankey added that the disease is in complete remission. In a statement released by the actor that same day, the actor said he was fortunate enough to be diagnosed with a “treatable and curable condition,” and thanked his doctors for their help.

Treatments will continue as scheduled, even though Hall still plans to attend this weekend’s Golden Globe awards, as well as the Screen Actors Guild ceremony later this month, with his wife and co-star Jennifer Carpenter. He is nominated at both ceremonies for his role as Dexter. Bankey also added that the diagnosis won’t prevent the actor from returning to the production of the drama’s fifth season later this year.

Hall first became recognized while starring on another movie network show dealing with death. He portrayed funeral director David Fisher on the HBO series ‘Six Feet Under’ for five seasons, before accepting the role of Dexter, a police blood splatter expert-turned-serial killer.
